Szwedzki zespół tworzący muzykę będącą mieszanką gatunków country oraz motywów pieśni Indian amerykańskich. Janne Ericsson, Örjan Öberg oraz Pat Reiniz trzech szwedzkich producentów, którzy spróbowali wymieszać muzykę country z muzyką techno, postanowiło powołać do życia Rednex.

Fifteen years has passed since the breakthrough of the Swedish group Rednex, with the song Cotton Eye Joe. Rednex soon became a hit machine, following up the success of Cotton Eye Joe, with a number of 1 hits, such as Old Pop in an Oak, Whish You were here, Spirit of a Hawk etc. With record sales exceeding 10 million copies, Rednex became one of the most important Swedish music exports. The Rednex Band celebrates those fifteen years of success with a new show, The Cotton Eye Joe Show, presenting all the big hits from the nineties, mixed with new material. On stage, the three original members Annika “Mary Joe” Ljungberg, Jens “Cotton Eye Joe” Sylsjö and Anders “Maverick” Lundström, who has toured the world together consistently since 2004, and performed over 700 concerts in this constellation. Back in 1994, the female vocalist, Annika Ljungberg, was given the task to put together the band Rednex, by the three producers who invented the Rednex sound. She has been the front figure of the group for nine of the fifteen years of the band’s existence. During her absence between 1998 and 2004, the band changed band members numerous times, but in 2004 she decided to return to Rednex and has led the band since then.
